A downloadable Shadowthorne for Windows


Shadowthorne is a 2D gothic action-platformer about Shadowthorne, an undead warrior raised from death to avenge his village against the Chaos Horde. Inspired by Castlevania's atmosphere and the unforgiving combat of Ghosts 'n Goblins, it blends sword-and-sub-weapon combat with tight platforming across a dark, elemental world.

This demo covers the Earth region — corrupted forests, crystal caves, and a treetop canopy — . It's a vertical slice of a much larger planned game spanning four elemental regions and their guardians.

Install instructions

1. Click Download to get the .zip file.

2. Extract the entire zip to a folder on your computer (right-click → Extract All). Don't run the game from inside the zip — extract it first.

3. Open the extracted folder and run the .exe file to launch the game.

4. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning ("Windows protected your PC") since this is an indie build without a paid code-signing certificate — click More info → Run anyway to proceed.

Note: Keep all files in the extracted folder together (don't move just the .exe on its own) — the game needs its accompanying data files to run.
